Where to found my new village

I'm about to found my fifth and sixth villages. All my other 4 are next to each other so I can swap defs and res across easily. I notice that a lot of players have villages in 2 clusters often a very long way away from each other. What is the advantage and where should i found my new villages.

i have 8..a cluster of 5 and 3 out of the way... the only reason ive spread them tho is becaus ei had to move to where the croopers were
